BMW M4 Preview-Upcoming Cars

 BMW M4

BMW, in 2013, created a bit of history (its own that is) by introducing a new line of vehicles in its range. The performance two-door versions in the 3 Series and 5 Series became the 2 Series and 4 Series while the M3 and M5 are now four door performance cars. The Indian arm of the German automaker has previewed the M4 on its official Facebook page and we expect that it will be launched here within the next few months.

Exterior
The BMW M4 is basically what the M3 Coupe would have been had the older naming convention continued. This means externally apart from the badges, it has all the hallmarks of a fast and sleek car that we have got from the German automaker so far.
 BMW M4 Rear view
It gets the forward slanting kidney bean-shaped grille which thanks to the sporty orientation of the car appears to ahead of the front bumper. The headlights are sleek and the bumper is sporty thanks to the large air intake below the number plate holder.
The side profile has the classic BMW line which means that it has a forward slung design with two noticeable shoulder lines separating the top section from the rest of the side profile. The wheel arches are flared and work in conjunction with the forward slanting side skirts to give the BMW M4 a squat stance. BMW has fitted the M4 with its performance five-spoke alloy wheels which by the look of it are unique to this model.

The rear profile includes the wrap-around LED tail lamps, quad-circular shaped exhausts and sporty bumper into which the former have been integrated. The rear roofline slopes downwards and flows into the boot giving the impression of single piece design.
Interior
The M4 gets the standard BMW interiors but with the addition of carbon fibre and racing buckets in place of wood and most of the plastic. Standard features include climate control, 2-DIN music system and the usual host of luxury accessories. In terms of overall design, the position of the all the stalks, buttons and other controls are very similar to that of the M3 (as is the case with most BMWs).

Engine and gearbox
The BMW is powered by a 3.0-litre six-cylinder engine that produces 431bhp and 550Nm of torque. In Europe, the M4 is offered with a six-speed manual or a seven-speed double clutch box but in India we expect that only the latter will be offered when the car is launched. 0-100kmph gets done in 4.3 seconds while the top speed is 250kmph.

Price and competition
The BMW M4 is expected to be priced in the range of Rs 1.0 crore to Rs 1.2 crore and will be brought to India in the CBU form. It will compete with the Audi RS5, Porsche Cayman and the Jaguar XK. We expect that they will launch the car during the festive season.
